Stubborn Fats are excessive fats that accumulates around the abdominal area, thighs and arms. Losing fats through exercise in older age may seem challenging.

How does these fats accumulate?

When we intake food, it is being transformed into energy to support bodily activities. Any excess will be channelled and stored into reserves, usually as fats, which will be used in the future when we are starving and have no food to eat. Common areas where the fats are stored include the abdominal area and the thighs.

Due to the accumulation of fats, the skin will be stretched, resulting in loose skin and sometimes stretch marks. Cellulites, orange-peel-like skin, are formed and mostly visible on the thigh area. These areas often have poor microcirculation.

Excessive body fats leave a negative impact on the body. Vital organs start getting affected making the body prone to diabetes, arthritis, gout, and other metabolic or vascular diseases.

Regular exercise and choosing to change eating habits to fresh produce, lean protein and whole grains will help to combat stubborn fats. Lifestyle change is required.

There are machine treatments available to reduce stubborn fats. Coolsculpting and Radiofrequency procedure such as Alma Spa RF Therapy or INDIBA® therapy can be done to accelerate the shedding of the fats.
