What is Fat Freezing?

Fat Freezing is a non-surgical body contouring treatment that uses controlled cooling to reduce stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. It allows for noticeable reduction in unwanted bulges without the need of needle or knife. Little to no downtime is required.

Cryolipolysis, the principle on which Fat Freezing is based on, relies on controlled cooling for non-invasive local reduction of fat deposits to reshape body contours. The coldness target and crystallise fat cells. These crystallised fat cells gradually die a natural cell death (apoptosis) and is then eliminated from the body. Because the procedure selectively targets only fat cells, it does not harm tissue, nerves or muscles.

Results can be observed as early as 3 weeks with optimum results experienced after 1 to 3 months.

What the treatment involves:

The Fat Freezing procedure uses vacuum pressure to draw tissue into an applicator cup between cooling panels. The suction pressure may cause sensations of deep pulling, tugging and pinching. These sensations generally subside after 10 minutes as the area is cooled and becomes numb. The tissue will then be cooled for an hour in order to crystallised the fat cells. The discomfort if any, is minimal and tolerable.

After the treatment:

The treated area may look or feel stiff and transient blanching (temporary whitening of the skin) may occur. The treated area may appear red for a few hours after the applicator is removed. Slight soreness at the treated area may be felt for the first couple of days.

Following the procedure, a gradual reduction in the thickness of the fat layer will take place.
