What is Pigmentation Laser? 

Pigmentation Laser refers to lasers used for the treatment of pigmentary skin conditions which are highly prevalent in Asia. The conditions that can be treated by pigment laser includes freckles, sunspots, acne scars, melasma, and congenital birthmarks. 

At times, combination of treatments is needed to treat stubborn pigmentations. These stubborn pigmentations that affect the dermis need lasers to penetrate deeper into the skin. 
 
Pigmentation Laser combined with adjuvant therapy such as microdermabrasion, along with sun avoidance and skin care for brightening and lightening can enhance the efficacy to achieve visible improvement overtime.

These non-ablative lasers are techniques developed to combat the signs of ageing. It protects the sensitive surface layers of your skin, allowing the laser light to penetrate to deeper levels to stimulate collagen growth. 

Light passes harmlessly through the upper layers of your skin stimulating the cells deep below the surface to produce natural collagen. The collagen and elastin fibers will continue to multiply after your treatment. Hence, you will continue to see improved results as the months pass. With this treatment, your skin is not subjected to harsh chemicals or intense after-care that is associated with other facial revitalisation treatments.

What the treatment involves: 

Pigmentation Laser treatment can be performed on any facial area around the eyes, mouth, cheeks and chin with minimal discomfort. Topical anaesthesia (numbing cream) may be used on sensitive areas. The treatment only takes between 15 and 30 minutes, and there are rarely any side effects. You can reapply your makeup right away and carry on with your daily activities. 

After the treatment: 

The treated area may appear red for up to an hour. However, makeup can immediately be applied. Clinical studies suggest that several treatments are needed to stimulate new collagen growth. We also recommend regular touch up treatments to sustain the continued growth of new collagen. 
 
For Deep Skin pigmentation, it is advisable to do a monthly session for about six (6) months.
